Back in time for crime

I’ll be beading back to Rothesay, on the lovely Isle of Bute, on Saturday October 8 in the company of pal and author Gordon Brown.

Ah well, you can’t have everything!

Gordon will be talking about his pacy new novel ANY DAY NOW, set in the 1980s, while I’ll be prattling about AN HONOURABLE THIEF, set in the 18th century.

If you’re on the island, or fancy a trip down the watter, then why not come see us?

Tickets cost £5 and are available from Print Point, the island’s superb bookshop, although the event will take place in the town’s museum. Which is fitting both for the subject matter of our books and because we are old.

Four Blokes search for the plot in Bute

The Four Blokes boy band (????) heads for the exotic island of Bute on Friday to bring their own brand of lunacy to the islanders.

Neil Broadfoot, Gordon Brown, Mark Leggatt and Douglas Skelton be in the Museum – fitting, considering their age – from 7pm.

As usual, it promises to be a fun-filled night, with the guys attempting to create a story from scratch, while wearing the sacred Tea Cosy of Inspiration.
