For Book Week Scotland this year I’m back in court – figuratively speaking, of course.

I’m presenting another You the Jury session in Ayr’s Carnegie Library on Thursday November 24.

If you were at the last one you’ll know what it’s all about. If you weren’t, here’s the idea…

I take some real-life cases, change the names and locations and present the basic facts and it’s up to you to decide if the verdict was guilty or innocent.

This time round I’m going to use some historical cases, some from w-a-a-a-y back.

So come along, be part of the jury, listen to the evidence and make your mind up.

Four crime writers continue their search for a plot with the Crime Factor tour next week – and we’re heading to Ayr.

Yes, we’re heading for the seaside with our sun screen and our bucket and spade. Just one between us, because if we all had one we’d start digging graves. It’s a crime thing.

So join Neil Broadfoot, Gordon Brown, Mark Leggatt and myself in the town’s Carnegie Library on Thursday June 16.

As usual, Peter Burnett will be keeping us in line. Yes, he has a whip and a chair.

Waterstones Ayr will be on hand to sell some books – and we’ll sign them at no extra charge!
